Our long municipal nightmare is over. Rogers and TSN2 have reached an agreement and at this very moment, TSN2 is coursing through the veins of your Rogers digital cable box (channel 1…I don’t know if there is an HD feed).
The impetus to the deal was this week’s crucial Jays-Red Sox series. The Jays are owned by Rogers and I think the company couldn’t bear the irony of owning a team and a cable provider but not being able to show said team’s games over said provider.
The move says a lot about how pathetic the Raptors season was (since the impetus should have come a lot earlier). Either way, it’s about time. Actually, it’s about 8 months too late.
I will now get back to railing against Hulu, as it has resumed it’s spot as the #1 discriminator against Canada’s viewing rights. If I had access to it, I would be showing tons of clips from this weekend’s hilarious Saturday Night Live finale. Instead, you are stuck listening to my rants about cable providers.
